In this post we will show you how to get a large prominent image alongside tweets that mentions your event website url. This is similar to our previous post on how to get your Facebook shares of your event website looking good.
1. Previously your website needed to be whitelisted by twitter to have an image display next to tweets that mentioned your url, but now this is open to everyone. The details can be found on the twitter developer website, but it basically involves adding a few tags to your event website.
You may already have the necessary tags added to your website so check by entering your event website url in to the handy validator that twitter has provided.
2. As an example, take a look at the tags we added to our website. We have chosen to use a description that addresses why event organisers use our software, you may chose to use this space to point out the main reasons to attend your event, or the dates.
